Because we're still in silent beta and haven't submitted our applications to the Microsoft Teams store, you need to install them yourself directly into Teams. This is a simple 2-step process shown below to upload a "manifest" file to Teams so it knows how to find to our Bots and how to show our Tab pages (nothing can actually execute inside Teams itself, to keep you safer).
- The first thing you need to do is to download the relevant zip file for the application you want:
- Next, within Teams, go to the main Apps listing (it's on the very bottom left of the screen in Teams)
- In the Apps page, go to "Upload a custom app" and find the zip file you downloaded previously
That's it - the app is now "side-loaded" into Teams and can be deployed to a specific channel or connected to your personal profile. Note that the icon might take a little while to load properly, but it will eventually do so.
The video below show the steps visually:
Please note: when we officially launch our apps, any data you've entered (e.g. Quicklinks you've created) or settings you've configured will continue to work seamlessly.
Now that the app is available in your tenant, you can add it to your personal app collection or to a group chat or team channel. To find out how to add one of the apps into a specific Teams channel, or how to connect to it directly via a Chat, please visit Adding an App.
